We are sorry to hear that David Hibberd, a long standing volunteer, minibus driver and friend of Waverley, has died.
David joined our team of drivers 15 years ago after retiring from managing a Coventry family haulage company. With his local knowledge and business contacts he looked after the Waverley minibuses, ensuring maintenance schedules were up to date and dealing with any day to day mechanical issues that arose as well as driving on a regular basis.
David gave selflessly of his time and energy. His cheerful disposition made him very popular with staff, customers and their families and carers. He could brighten an otherwise grey morning and got everyone in a good mood for the day ahead.
He was ably supported in his volunteer role by his wife Pauline and always spoke with pride about his children and grandchildren, sharing their achievements with the Waverley team.
Our condolences go to all his family.
He was a truly lovely gentleman.
